Greencastle, Ind. – DePauw hit the 20-win mark in just 25 games after a 10-3 victory over Rose-Hulman on Wednesday.
DePauw (20-5) received a stellar pitching performance from Danny Farrar in just four innings of work. Farrar gave up a leadoff single and promptly retired the next 11 batters, facing the minimum and picking up his first win of the season. He also struck out five batters.
Four different pitchers finished with Tom Giella pitching a scoreless ninth to put the game away.
Rose-Hulman (10-15) starting pitcher Jacob Schult was tallied with his first loss after getting knocked out of the game in the fourth.
DePauw led 6-0 after four innings until Rose-Hulman scored their first run in the fifth. Zack Wade hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning, his sixth of the season, to give DePauw more of a cushion at 8-1.
Wade finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Leadoff hitter Ryan Grippo went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored.
Collin Einertson was a late substitution and singled in both his at-bats, recording an RBI in the eighth.
The Tigers gets back to North Coast Athletic Conference action Friday when they host Denison in a three-game series starting with a doubleheader at noon.
