DePauw Travels to Sewanee on Saturday


102019October 13, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw returns to the gridiron this Saturday when it travels to Sewanee for a 1 p.m. CDT contest against their former conference foes.

DePauw is 1-3 on the season after a 24-10 loss to Centre on October 1. The Tigers opened with a 23-13 win at Rose-Hulman and dropped a 17-10 decision at Allegheny before falling to Rhodes by a 24-14 count.

Sewanee is 2-4 on the season after losing at Trinity last Saturday by a 27-9 score. The Tigers’ two wins were over Earlham (32-10) and at Puget Sound (34-23). Sewanee’s other losses came to Washington & Lee (34-23), Birmingham-Southern (28-21) and Millsaps (21-20).

The teams are meeting for the 14th straight year after sharing Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference affiliation for 13 seasons. DePauw holds a 12-1 series lead and is 5-1 in games played at Sewanee. The Tigers have won the last 11 in the series with Sewanee’s lone win coming in 1999 by a 33-14 score. DePauw won he last time the teams met at Sewanee by a 3-0 score on a rain-soaked McGee Field.
