Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opens its 126th season of intercollegiate football with the only non-conference game on the slate when it travels to Sewanee for a renewal of a series that started in 1999 when both were members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Kickoff from Sewanee's McGee Field is set for 1 p.m. CDT this afternoon.
DePauw is coming off a 2-8 season and a 1-6 mark in its first North Coast Athletic Conference season. Sewanee was 3-7 last year and 1-3 in its inaugural season of Southern Athletic Association competition.
The visiting Tigers not only return 37 lettermen including 14 starters from last year, but the they also welcome back former head coach Bill Lynch to the sideline. The former Indiana University head coach directed DePauw to an 8-2 record during the 2004 season.
