Springfield, Ohio -- Wittenberg defeated DePauw 3-0 on Thursday night to sweep the NCAC regular season series.
Wittenberg beat DePauw by the same score earlier this month on Oct. 8. The win solidifies Wittenberg (12-5) in third place of the NCAC at 9-4, while DePauw (10-7) stays firm in fourth at 8-5.
Channa Visseren gave Wittenberg a 1-0 halftime lead thanks to her goal in the 24th minute off an assist from Isabella Wagner. It was her first of two on the night as she also scored the game's final goal in the 55th minute.
Wittenberg ran away from DePauw following Visseren's second goal, after they made it 2-0 in the 54th minute on a goal from Audrey Coler. Thirty-seven seconds separated the two goals.
Goalie Hannah Metzger took the loss, making two saves in the cage. Sarah Foye played the final 14:41 and did not allow a goal, while making one save. Allie Purvis made four saves for the shutout for Wittenberg.
Wittenberg outshot DePauw 12-9. DePauw could not capitalize on their 10 corners; Wittenberg recorded six penalty corners.
DePauw concludes the regular season with a trip to Earlham on Saturday.
