Men’s Lacrosse Upended By Fighting Scots


Greencastle, Ind. – The DePauw men’s lacrosse squad was defeated by the Fighting Scots of Wooster, 24-0, on Saturday, April 6, in a North Coast Athletic Conference tussle on Lower Boswell West Field in Greencastle, Ind.

With the victory by the Fighting Scots, Wooster moves to 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play while DePauw falls to 0-9 on the season (0-3 NCAC).

The Fighting Scots had 18 separate players tally at least one point in the match, 15 of which scored goals. Matt Ranck netted three goals and dropped two assists to lead the team in points, while Tom Herold led the team in goals, scoring four.

Wooster outshot the Tigers, 75-14. 57 percent of DePauw shots found the goal frame, compared to 51 percent of Wooster's attempts.

DePauw’s John Zupancic led all players with 11 face-off wins.

Matt Magoon notched the win for the Fighting Scots, playing the first 45 minutes of the game in net, saving four shots before giving way to Aaron Levy to finish out the final quarter of the game. DePauw’s JR Strubbe was saddled with the loss, saving 14 shots throughout the game.

DePauw returns to the field on Wednesday, April 10, at 5 p.m. (ET) as they travel to Delaware, Ohio to take on NCAC-leading Ohio Wesleyan.
