Tigers Battle Buccaneers Before Falling in Season Finale

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw took an early lead against visiting Beloit, but the Buccaneers spoiled the Tigers' season finale with a 14-10 win at Blackstock Stadium. The Tigers finished the season at 3-12, while Beloit improved to 9-6.

Sam Caravana put the Tigers ahead quickly with a goal just 49 seconds into the contest and then added a second at the 6:45 mark to give DePauw a 2-0 advantage.

Beloit's first score didn't come until 3:29 remained in the first and it was followed by two more scores in the quarter. DePauw's Robert Lapp knotted the score at 3-3 early in the second, but the Buccaneers scored the next three to grab a 6-3 advantage on the way to a 6-4 halftime lead. 

The Buccaneers pulled away in the third and led by as many as six goals early in the fourth.

Caravana paced the Tigers with four goals  and two assists, while Lapp added a pair of scores. Aidan Whinnery, Jacob Pritcher and Austin Hyatt each scored three in the win for Beloit.

DePauw's Grant Skipper collected five ground balls and won 14 faceoffs, while Jack Jenkins totald two ground balls for the Buccaneers.

Tom Kryspin totaled nine saves in goal for DePauw with J.R. Strubbe totaling one. Beloit's Trevor Kenahan stopped 15 shots.
