Tigers Now 2-2 after Win at Calvin

Grand Rapids, Mich. - DePauw put together a 10-1 scoring run in the second and third quarters and moved to 2-2 on the season with a 16-7 win at Calvin. The Knights dropped to 0-4 with the loss.

After trailing 2-1 in the opening quarter, the Tigers scored three straight in the final 6:07 to take a 4-2 lead. Calvin answered 40 seconds into the second, but DePauw scored the next five of the half and the first two of the third to extend the lead to 11-3. The Knights closed the gap to six goals on two occasions, but DePauw scored the game's final three for the final margin.

Ben Sherman, Nate Greenberg and Ben Davis each scored three goals for the Tigers, while Sherman added three assists. Joe Son paced Calvin with two goals.

The Tigers won 18 of the 26 faceoffs with Joe Garvey collecting wins in 13 of 18 and Matthew Braun in 5 of 8. Garvey paced DePauw with seven ground balls as the Tigers held a 41-23 edge. Wong and Son each had four for Calvin.

Charlie Robson stopped nine shots for the Tigers with Calvin's Wong recording 19 saves. DePauw committed 13 turnovers to the Knights' 15 and the Tigers' Dony Bleifuss caused six of those Calvin miscues.

DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, March 7, when it travels to Hanover for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
