Kansas City, Mo. – Senior Julian Gonzalez was recently named a NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-American with a third team selection following his play in 2016. He and E.J. Moore were also All-Region selections.
Gonzalez ended the year with a team-high 17 goals, seven assists and 41 points and finished his career with 51 goals, which set a new school record. He was a three-time All-NCAC First Team selection and an All-Region second team selection as a junior.
Gonzalez joins DePauw alumni Brian Jaworski (second team - 1988), Nathan Sprenkel (second team - 2011), Sam Meyer (second team - 2011) and Andy Morrison (third team - 2013) as fellow All-American selections.
A total of 92 players in Division III received All-America recognition this year.
The two seniors, Gonzalez and Moore, also were selected to the NSCAA NCAA DIII Men's All-Great Lakes Region First Team.
Moore, the NCAC Midfielder of the Year and a three-time all-conference selection, finished with 12 points on three goals and six assists. He finishes his career having played in 79 games (69 starts) with 10 goals and 11 assists.
