Gold's Goal is Golden for 2-0 Tigers

Anderson, Ind. - Entering the season without an overtime win in nearly three years, the Tigers picked up a second golden-goal victory in a span of five days to open the 2018 season after tonight's 3-2 win at Anderson. The Tigers improved to 2-0, while the Ravens dropped to 2-1.

Andrew Gold delivered the game-winner 6:30 into the first overtime to give the Tigers the win.

DePauw grabbed a 2-0 lead as Oliver Shebek scored at 25:57 off a free kick and Jay Klein knocked in a penalty kick a little over two minutes later.

The Ravens cut the deficit in half on Daniel Collins' score with an assist from Jacob Pokorksi at 32:10. Anderson's Noah Keller forced the overtime with just 2:27 left in regulation.

DePauw held a commanding 27-10 edge in shots, but just 7-5 on goal. The Tigers also led in corners, 8-2.

Dylan Ruzbasan recorded three saves in goal for the Tigers, while Anderson's Adam Mrzlak had four.

DePauw returns to action on Friday, September 7, when it hosts WashU at 7 p.m.
