Tigers, Burguete Place Fourth at Little State

West Lafayette, Ind. - Led by Polo Burguete's fourth-place finish, DePauw finished fourth at the Indiana Little State Championships hosted by Purdue. The Tigers totaled 102 points with Wabash winning with 51 followed by Indianapolis with 88 and Wabash with 97.

Burguete completed the 8,000-meter course in 26:59.2 to pace the Tigers. Cole Martin was 15th in 27:59.6, while Nick Meszaros was 22nd in 28:23.6 and Zach Batt in 23rd in 28:26.6.

Samuel Meyer finished 38th (28:52.9) followed by Aaron Worley in 39th (28:57.4) and Pierce Sheehan in 45th (29:16.2).

Wabash's Dominic Patacsil was the top individual in 25:39.0.

"We hoped to finish higher than what we did," DePauw head coach Kori Stoffregen said. 

"We weren't very consistent across the squad. However, it's early and we have time to fix that."

The Tigers will host the alumni meet on Saturday, September 23 before returning to action on September 30 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
