Senior Angela Newlon set two pool records and posted three total NCAA "B" cuts to lead the Tigers to a second-place finish at the UC Phoenix Fall Classic in Chicago this past weekend.
Newlon broke the University of Chicago pool records and established a pair of NCAA "B" cuts by winning both the 500 free (4:51.88) and the 1,650 free (16:52.33). Newlon's time in the 500 free is also the nation's top time to date in the event.
Newlon then posted an NCAA "B" cut in the 200 fly by clocking a time of 2:04.18 in the prelim session.
The Tigers are off until January 1 when they swim in the St. Pete Classic.
