Tigers Rally for Opening Night Sweep

Bluffton, Ohio - DePauw opened the 2017 season with a sweep at the Sommer Center Spiketacular as the Tigers topped Adrian 3-1 (28-26, 11-25, 25-14, 25-14) and came back against host Bluffton for a 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 15-9) victory.

In the opener against Adrian, Suzanne Peters and Liv Hartman each had 14 kills, while Morgan Stearley added 12. Stearley also recorded a team-best 16 digs. Keegan Kolliias assisted on 44 of DePauw's 50 kills with Kaley Keating finishing with two aces and Haley Bitzer four blocks including one solo.

The Tigers held a 50-35 advantage in kills and hit .189 to the Bulldogs' .102. 

In the Bluffton match, Hartman led with 23 kills with Peters following with 20. Keating had a team-best 26 digs and two aces with Bitzer totaling three block assists. Kollias had 50 assists in the come-from-behind win.

DePauw held a 69-51 advantage in kills and outhit the Beavers, .203-.162.

The Tigers wrap up tournament play on Saturday with matches against Kalamazoo (Noon) and Heidelberg (2 p.m.)
