Tigers' Rally Falls Short in Weekend Finale

Hoover, Ala. - DePauw nearly came back from a 6-1 deficit, but North Park put the game away in the ninth and took an 11-6 win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 0-4, while the Vikings improved to 2-4.

North Park scored an unearned run in the first before DePauw evened the score in the bottom half of the frame as Charlie Patrick's grounder plated Noah Salasky.

The Vikings added two in the second and three in the third for a 6-1 lead, but the Tigers came back with four in the fourth on RBI singles from Jackson Williams, TJ Carney-DeBord, Evan Barnes and CJ Yoannou.

After the Vikings made it 7-5 in the top of the sixth, Nolan Lavender delivered a sacrifice fly in the seventh which scored Yoannou. North Park secured the win with four in the ninth.

DePauw totaled nine hits led by three from Yoannou and two from Lavender. Jared Cantu, Jake Reinhardt, Ranko Stevanovic, Brandon Davis and Niko Buck each had two of North Park's 13 hits.

DePauw starter Parker Bray suffered the loss and dropped to 0-1, while Justin Woolbright improved to 1-0 with the relief win and Tyler Banks picked up the save.

The Tigers return to action March 2-3 with a three-game series against Mount St. Joseph at the University of Cincinnati.
