Greencastle, Ind. -- Two separate goals late in each half were the difference in a close matchup between two of the top teams in the NCAC on Saturday as Kenyon defeated DePauw 4-3.
After Kate Milner scored her first goal of the season just 10 minutes into the game, Kenyon's Shannon Hart tied it before the half as time expired during a penalty corner.
Kenyon then went on to take the lead following a goal by Kelsey Truik off another penalty corner just two minutes into the second half. That lead grew to 3-1 at the 52nd minute on Hart's second goal of the game.
The Tigers capitalized on two corners of their own at the 55th minute and 67th minute. Paige Berliner recorded her first goal of the season off an assist from Corina Bourantas from the top of the circle.
Reilly Bruce then scored her fourth goal on the season after receiving the assist off a corner from Berliner to tie the game with just minutes remaining. However, Kenyon's Weezie Foster hit the game winner shortly after at 68:55 as Kenyon held on to the lead for the win.
Both teams took 14 shots, and DePauw took 11 corners to Kenyon's 9. Sarah Foye made four saves in net for the Tigers.
DePauw drops to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while Kenyon improves to 5-1 and 2-0. The Tigers return to action tomorrow when they host Ohio Wesleyan.
