Richmond, Ind. -- Paige Berliner scored twice, and the Tigers will enter the NCAC Tournament on a positive note following a 3-2 win at Earlham on Saturday.
Berliner and Kate Milner each scored their eighth goals of the season. Milner started things off first in the 20th minute off an assist from Cathy Zesiger. With a 1-0 lead at the half, Berliner made it a 2-0 game in the 53rd minute thanks to an assist from Reilly Bruce.
Earlham got one back in the 61st minute with a goal from Megan Hut. The Tigers responded appropriately two minutes later with Berliner's second goal.
Hut scored again in the 69th minute for her 10th of the year. However, the Tigers held the Quakers off for the remainder of the game for the win.
DePauw outshot their opposition 19-7 and took the penalty corner advantage at 9-6.
Hannah Metzger made one save to record the win.
The Tigers move to 11-7 overall and 9-5 in the NCAC, while Earlham falls to 6-10 and 5-9 in conference play.
The field is now set for the NCAC Tournament. Denison took the No. 1 seed after defeating Kenyon 1-0 on Saturday, so the fourth-seeded Tigers will travel to Granville for a 3 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
DePauw split with Denison (15-3, 12-2) in the regular season, defeating them at their place 4-1, while falling at home on Oct. 7 in their most recent matchup 2-0.
The 2-3 seed matchup with feature Kenyon (15-3, 12-2) and Wittenberg (13-5, 10-4). The championship game will take place the following Saturday.
