Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw University men's soccer team lost to Ohio Wesleyan University 2-0 in its second to last home game of the season.
From the opening minutes, the Battling Bishops controlled the pace of the game, pushing up its backline and forcing the Tigers to go on the defensive.
Despite being outshot 5-1 in the first half, the Tigers kept its opponents at bay; however, in 36th-minute Ohio Wesleyan caught a break and scored.
Going into the second half down by one, the Tigers managed to force its way deeper into the Battling Bishops half, tallying five shots on goal as well as two corners late in the second half.
Unfortunately, DePauw found itself down by two with 15 minutes remaining in the game, and although its efforts to cut the lead by one were dashed, the Tigers played with energy until the final seconds of the game.
DePauw is on the road to face the Allegheny College Gators on Saturday, Oct. 26, at noon. The Tigers' final home game of the regular season is next Wednesday, Oct. 30, against Wabash, with a game-time set for 7 p.m.
