Bluffton, Ohio - DePauw dropped to 2-4 on the season after losing both of its Friday matches at the Sommer Center Spiketacular. Heidelberg defeated the Tigers 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-15, 25-13) before host Bluffton also took a 3-1 (15-25, 20-25, 24-26, 23-25) victory over DePauw.
In the Heidelberg match, Liv Hartman paced the Tigers with 13 kills, while Ally Low assisted on 27 of the team's 37 kills. Jenna Purichia had two of the Tigers' five aces and led with 23 digs. Corri Rusk finished with seven blocks with Meaghan Etling and Morgan Stearley had five each. Heidelberg outhit the Tigers, .248-.130.
In the Bluffton match, Suzanne Peters led with 22 kills with Stearley following with 17 along with a .366 hitting percentage. Low assisted on 48 of DePauw's 57 kills with Purichia recording two of the Tigers' five aces and leading with 22 digs. Etling and Rusk each had five blocks.
DePauw returns to action tomorrow with a Noon match against 18th-ranked Ohio Northern and a 2 p.m. contest against 23rd-ranked Thomas More.
