Oct. 5, 2019- The DePauw University volleyball team cleaned house with its third conference match sweep over the College of Wooster.
In its fourth conference matchup of the season, the Tigers found its rhythm early and stayed on beat throughout the match.
As a team, DePauw managed to communicate and recover quickly from its mistakes, making it difficult for the Fighting Scots to get back into the game.
The first set the Tigers jumped out to an early 1-7 lead over Wooster, and although the Fighting Scots pulled within two of DePauw, a string of kills by the Tigers kept them at bay and winning the set 25-16.
In the second set, it was more of the same, DePauw took the lead early and held onto it throughout the whole set. Despite a small stretch of errors, the Tigers remained in control of the set and finished on top 25-15.
The third and final set at first favored the Fighting Scots, with the Tigers down 4-0. Fortunately, consistent serving and strong rallies put DePauw back in control after tying the game at six. As soon as the Tigers got ahold of the lead, however, it never looked back and took the set 25-13.
The Tigers take a break from conference play and travel to Colorado Springs to play in the Colorado College Invitational next Saturday, Oct. 12, at noon EDT.
