Tigers Top Grizzlies to Move to 2-2

Westfield, Ind. - DePauw scored three in the second and three in the third and held on for an 8-4 win over Franklin at Grand Park. The Tigers moved to 2-2, while the Grizzlies dropped to 0-4.

In the second, DePauw took a 5-0 lead on RBI singles from Riley Magoon, Sidney Holler, Jade Mejia Wick and Sarah Beischer. The final run of the inning came home on an error after Beischer's hit.

Paige Price's single in the third scored Chase Epp to make it 6-0 before Mejia Wick clubbed a two-run homer to right center.

Franklin scored four in the fifth as Danielle Wyse drove in the first with a single before Samanatha Cain's two-run single and Makiah Thomas' run-scoring single.

Holler and Mejia Wick each had two of DePauw's 11 hits, while six different Grizzlies collected one hit apiece.

Cami Henry improved to 1-2 after pitching the final four innings in relief of Magoon. Kayla Selzer dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

DePauw travels to WashU this weekend and opens play on Saturday, March 16, with an 11 a.m. CDT contest with Wartburg.
